Before returning your Auto Meter mechanical pressure-based speedometer for service, check to see if the pressure or "pitot" tube leading to the speedometer has become obstructed by debris or bent. Visual inspection when the boat is out of the water can tell you if the tube has become bent, while removing the line from the back of the gauge and forcing compressed air through the pitot tube will frequently clear the line of any debris that may have become clogged in it.
