My Marine Tachometer is Reading Erratically, What Gives?

Other Marine Electronics may interfere with your tachometer's operation by creating electrical noise or RF interference. Be sure to route your tachometer wiring away from wires and harnesses associated with such things as Depth Sounders (notorious for producing RF "noise" that can affect your tach reading) and Radios.

The use of composites for high performance inboard and I/O marine construction means that unlike many automotive applications, there is no metal construction to shield against RF noise. As such we recommend using a suppression style spark plug wire for best instrument performance.
