My Mechanical Gauges are reading erratically, what gives?

The long distance between dashboard and engine in marine applications necessitates long runs of mechanical line between the gauge and its pickup location. If not secured properly, these lines can oscillate in the hull when running on choppy waters and cause fluctuation in the reading provided by the gauge. This is especially true in offshore applications where pounding can result in a whipping action on long unsecured tubes and ultimately result in instrument failure. Properly route and secure your mechanical gauge lines to minimize their free play in order to eliminate this potential problem.
